Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you will have heard a lot of buzz around Dubai’s upcoming XYoga Festival, and with good reason too. Not only is it the region’s biggest mind-body initiative, it’s the first of its kind in the Middle East and will see some of the world’s most renowned and well-known yogis flying in for two days to join local yogis for free yoga sessions, workshops, and talks. As Festival Director Javad Khoramifar tells us, “XYoga is set to be the biggest festival of its kind in Dubai, catering for yoga fans of all abilities. We’re expecting crowds in the thousands for what promises to be an exhilarating two days of complete mind and body wellness.”
These yogis include the world’s oldest yoga teacher, Tao Porchon-Lynch, who at the age of 97 still practices and teaches (that should be motivation enough), YouTube sensation Dashama Konah who pioneered paddle boarding ‘SUP’ yoga, and TV and social media star Sadie Nardini, who is jetting over all the way from LA. Not to mention a whole host of others, along with nutritionists and health experts to offer advice and guidance on all aspects of health and well-being.
There’s going to be live music, stands selling cool yoga threads and healthy bites, live demonstrations, and even yoga flash mobs, all taking place with the beautiful backdrop of the Burj Khalifa in the Burj Park, Downtown. This is one major event not to be missed.
