Hey Zendaya, how does it feel to be God’s favorite?

When it comes to red carpet style, Zendaya is one of those rare fashion icons that always pushes the envelope, yet never seems to have a fashion misstep. The Euphoria star first cropped up on our style radar when she wore an exquisite velvet Vivetta dress to The Fashion Awards in 2017, and since then, she’s quickly become one of our favorite celebrity style crushes, and we are hardly alone. Zendaya’s slew of daring red carpet moments have earned her the title of a style icon. In 2021, Zendaya, at the age of 25, became the youngest-ever recipient of the CFDA Fashion Icon Award.

Throughout the years, the young actress – who is unafraid to take sartorial risks – has blessed fans with countless sensational fashion moments. From a risqué chainlink metal crop top by Vivienne Westwood and bespoke spiderweb embroidered Valentino gown to a red Vera Wang bubble skirt and an internet-breaking sculptural Balmain wet effect gown at the 2021 Venice Film Festival, here are her most fabulous fashion moments from the past few years.

Suited and Booted

We’re so used to seeing Zendaya in floor-length, showstopping gowns that we actually did a double-take when we saw her in this tailored suit for a photocall for Spider-Man: Far From Home.

The blazer and waistcoat are part of a houndstooth three-piece tuxedo from Alexandre Vauthier, which she paired with a ruffle-collar shirt and some simple straight-leg trousers.

Glowing Princess

Zendaya stole the show at the 2019 Met Gala in this Cinderella-inspired ball gown, which was custom created by Tommy Hilfiger.

The actress hit the red carpet with her stylist Law Roach, who was cleverly disguised as her fairy godmother. With a few waves of his magic wand and a couple of wisps of smoke, the actress’s gown lit up in a real fairytale moment.

Joan of Arc

Proving she’s a queen in every way, Zendaya interpreted the 2018 Met Gala’s ‘heavenly bodies’ theme by dressing as Joan of Arc – one of Catholicism’s most beloved saints.

The armor-inspired dress, complete with chainmail sleeves and a breastplate, was a stroke of genius by Versace. The actress finished the look perfectly by wearing her hair in a chic bob, to mimic the style worn by Joan herself.

Beige Isn’t Boring

Although Zendaya is best known for making a statement on the red carpet, she also looks gorgeous when she’s keeping things simple too – as she did in this stunning fishtail Michael Kors dress at the Vanity Fair Oscar party in 2018.

Velvet Vamp

Velvet is a tricky fabric to pull off, but Zendaya proved she can tackle even the most challenging fashion trends in this Vivetta gown at the 2017 Fashion Awards. We love the Swarovski star-print sleeves and the elegant neckline, with an illusion body and equestrian chest details.

Green Goddess

Early on in her career, Zendaya wowed in this sheer chartreuse number, schooling us all on how to look great in green. The beaded Zuhair Murad creation looked incredible with her Jackie O-style bob, which she teamed with some seriously sky-high gold platforms. Intricately beaded and with a plunging, but flattering, neckline, it’s easily one of her most elegant looks to date.

Beyoncé Moment

For her appearance at the BET Awards, Zendaya paid homage to Beyoncé. In 2003, Queen Bey had worn a similar version of the purple-and-lime-green paneled Versace dress when she performed her breakout single “Crazy in Love”. The reaction to this now-iconic fashion moment spread through social media like wildfire. Zendaya’s Euphoria castmate Storm Reid put it perfectly when she commented, “How does it feel to be god’s favorite?”

Bubble Princess

At the 2021 CFDA Awards, Zendaya was announced as the Fashion Icon of the year, and she certainly looked the part. Dressed in a bright red Vera Wang bandeau crop top and bubble skirt set, Zendaya proved why she deserved every bit of the award she received later that evening.

The Dress That Broke the Internet

The bespoke wet-effect leather Balmain gown that Zendaya wore to the premiere of Dune at the 2021 Venice Film Festival is undoubtedly one for the history books. The dress that fit like second skin was crafted from structured leather by Oliver Rousteing and the geniuses at the Balmain atelier using a cast of the actress’ exact measurements to achieve the perfect fit. Zendaya paired the dress with a massive 93-carat Bvlgari emerald from the ‘Magnifica‘ collection.

The Spiderman Moment

If there is one star who perfects every look down to every little detail, it is Zendaya. The actress attended the Spiderman: No Way Home premiere dressed in a stunning custom Valentino gown embellished with spiderweb embroidery. A spider eye mask completed the head-turning look.

Vintage Stripes

For her latest appearance at the premiere of the much-anticipated second season of Euphoria, Zendaya chose a vintage black-and-white striped Valentino gown modeled by Linda Evangelista on the Spring/Summer 1992 runway. The actress complimented the strapless scalloped hem dress with magnificent Bvlgari ‘Serpenti’ earrings.

Pretty in Pink

At Valentino’s Fall/Winter 2022 show in Paris Fashion Week, Zendaya made an appearance in a head-to-toe pink outfit that matched the rest of the monochrome collection. The actress and Maison Valentino brand ambassador wore a Barbie-pink suit and accessorized with matching Valentino Garavani shoes. With her dramatic cat-eye, sleek makeup, and voluminous hairstyle with flipped ends, “pretty in pink” doesn’t even begin to cover it.

A Hollywood Princess

At the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards, Zendaya brought old-school glamour to the red carpet in a stunning Valentino gown. The strapless black dress, fit for a princess and paired with a diamond choker, trailed along the red carpet effortlessly. Even in the most classic look, Zendaya is able to give it her modern and effortless touch.

Neon Dream

In a 2002 Versace gown at the NAACP Awards, Zendaya caught everyone's eye, donning a sculptural black gown with neon green accents. Making a grand return to the red carpet, she debuted her chic new bob, marking her first appearance after a notable absence from the spotlight.

Blooming in Blush Pink

Zendaya's appearance at the SAG Awards is a testament to her knack for embodying timeless elegance. Wearing a strapless gown that beautifully sculpted her figure, the gentle blush hue of the dress enhanced her radiant skin. The gown's material flowed into a lavish spread of three-dimensional roses at the hem, elegantly pooling around her feet. Complementing this stunning ensemble was a striking diamond necklace, lending a hint of classic Hollywood glamour to her look.

Waistcoat Wonder

Zendaya stepped out in an open-back waistcoat and loose-fitted trousers on the CinemaCon red carpet. Never afraid to push boundaries, she paired the ensemble with the perfect white stiletto. Her ability to bring together the perfect balance of streetwear and chicness is one we will continuously admire.
