Celebrities Come Out in Droves at LACMA

Everybody who is somebody made an appearance at the LACMA Art + Film 2023 Gala this weekend. Maybe it's because there have been no premieres or big award shows since the SAG-AFTRA strike started, but it feels like this was the biggest gathering of celebrities since Taylor Swift's friends went to see her boyfriend play the NYC Jets

The event was presented by Gucci and co-chaired by new Creative Director Sabato De Sarno, who also introduced the Ancora Notte collection, his first eveningwear designs for the brand. Stars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Keanu Reeves, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez, Salma Hayek, Billie Eilish, Lenny Kravitz, Lupita Nyong’o, Jesse Plemons, Kirsten Dunst, A$AP Rocky, Paris Hilton, and so many more (seriously, so many more) turned up in droves, most draped from head to toe in Gucci. Except Kim Kardashian, who arrived wearing a bold, hot-pink Balenciaga couture gown for our favorite Barbie look yet.

Do I Dance? Do I Cry? Megan Thee Stallion, Please Tell Me What to Do

Megan Thee Stallion released her first song, Cobra, since leaving her longtime label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, with which she has been entrenched in a court case this past year. In her new song, under her own independent entity, Hot Girl Productions, Stallion's beat is ready for the club but her lyrics speak about self-harm, depression, anxiety, a cheating ex, and needing to shed her past (which is done metaphorically and repeatedly through visuals of an actual cobra molting or peeling her own skin off her body). Her lyrics, when taken at face value, are incredibly vulnerable and would make anyone with a heart want to cry and wrap their arms around her and give her a hug, but her rapping makes us start to shimmy a little. So it feels wrong. Do we dance? Do we cry? Do we dance while we cry? We don't know. But the song is real, and it's perfection. Agh.

Atta Baby! It's a Boy!

Kourtney Kardashian – who announced her pregnancy with husband Travis Barker by holding up a sign at a Blink182 concert that read, "Travis, I'm pregnant," – has had her baby. The parents struggled to add to their blended family, and Kardashian was quite vocal about her IVF trials, tribulations, and hormone rollercoasters. She had also been on bed rest after she had to have emergency fetal surgery to save her baby, so this birth was a huge miracle for the Kardashian-Barker clan. But (sigh) they named him Rocky Thirteen, and now we can't stop imagining us conquering a pair of stairs in Philadelphia wearing a grey jogging suit and dodging a ski-masked villain set to the charming soundtrack of Rocky Raccoon by the Beatles. SMH.

"Alright, Alright, Alright" Version 2.0

Matthew McConaughey and his Brazilian wife, Camila Alves, allowed their oldest son, Levi McConaughey, to finally have social media when he turned 15 earlier this year — and it looks like the young man is putting his social skills to good use. Aside from his surfing videos, the teenager went online this past weekend to praise his dad on his 54th birthday. "People know Matthew McConaughey as an actor and now a writer, but I know him as my father," he wrote. "The man who always makes time for us no matter what, the man who’s always there for us no matter what, and the man that taught me to appreciate the journey and not just the destination. The journey's just getting started… Happy birthday Papai." Just imagine what it would be like to say "Matthew McConaughey" when someone asks you who your daddy is.

He Liked It, So He Put a Ring On It

Channing Tatum and Zoe Kravitz are officially engaged. Rumors the two had gotten engaged have been swirling around in the ether, so when the duo stepped out to go to Kendall Jenner's Halloween party in Los Angeles, people were primed to look for confirmation. They found it. Kravitz arrived dressed in a long, white nightgown clutching what looked to be a kitchen knife, and on her finger was a giant rock. Her other fingers were intertwined with those of Tatum, dressed as a giant baby. We are 99.9% sure the engagement ring was not part of the costume. But you never know.
