Abu Dhabi's best-kept secret? Its stunning beaches! From cultural enlightenment on Saadiyat Island to private coves on Zaya Nurai, these beaches offer a perfect blend of luxury and natural beauty.

While most people think of the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, or even a desert excursion when planning a trip to Abu Dhabi, perhaps the best-kept secret of the emirate is that the most beautiful beaches can be found in the nation's capital.

From the opulent Saadiyat Island, where golden sands meet cultural enlightenment, to the exclusive serenity of Zaya Nurai Island, where turquoise waves kiss private coves, each beach promises an unparalleled escape. Thrill-seekers can ride the waves at Yas Beach, while Corniche Beach charms with its panoramic promenade and skyline vistas. Abu Dhabi's best beaches offer a harmonious blend of extravagance, natural beauty, and warm Arabian hospitality for a truly exceptional day at the beach.

Saadiyat Island

Saadiyat Island boasts some of the most enchanting beaches in the entire United Arab Emirates, and it's no wonder why they are our favorites. With velvety powder-soft white sands, pleasantly temperate azure waters year-round, and a captivating view of the boundless sea stretching into the Arabian Gulf, the island offers an idyllic beach experience to suit every preference. For a perfect day, we personally adore Saadiyat Beach Club, where we alternate between refreshing dips in the pool and sea, unwinding on the sandy shores or in cozy cabanas, and indulging in the steam room and sauna.

If pure beach vibes are what you seek, don't miss out on Kai Beach Saadiyat, offering delightful food, clean and comfortable changing rooms scattered along the beach, and an uninterrupted stretch of pristine shoreline with breathtaking views. We also love to soak up the sun at Soul Beach and then walk down the corniche taking in Saadiyat's blue waters before popping into Niri Restaurant and Bar for good food and better conversation.

Nurai Island

Nurai Island is a secret treasure cove of secluded beaches that rival just about anywhere else in the world. A mere 10-minute private boat ride away from Saadiyat Island, this beach promises an extraordinary array of dining options, private beaches, and relaxing days. While you can opt for a luxury stay at Zaya Nurai Island Resort, we are content with a day pass to enjoy the exclusive beach and pool as well as waterpark access.

Corniche Beach

With its turquoise waters, soft white sands, and a picturesque boardwalk overlooking the Arabian Gulf surrounded by towering city structures, Corniche Beach offers an idyllic setting for relaxation that stretches two kilometers. Divided into three sections, it caters to various preferences, from singles and larger groups to families with designated quiet zones. The beach provides a range of amenities, including showers, changing rooms, cabanas, and hired sun loungers and umbrellas, while also giving visitors the option to enjoy nearby facilities, such as children's play areas, cycling paths, free sports courts, and your pick of cafes and restaurants. Corniche Beach is a Blue Flag (internationally-renowned and eco-friendly beach with safe and clean seawater) public beach and is often voted one of the best sunset spots in the nation's capital.

Hudayriyat Island

Hudayriyat Island boasts two beautiful beaches: Hudayriyat Beach and Marsana Beach. Hudayriyat Beach has an assortment of international food and ice cream trucks, as well as unencumbered views from the sand and various courts for playing football, tennis, volleyball, and basketball. Marsana Beach boasts all that and more with its splash park, skate park, outdoor gym, and cycle path. Both beaches are safe and secure for swimmers, with the added benefit of being less traveled by tourists and residents.

Al Bateen Beach

Al Bateen Beach is a stunning waterfront destination overlooking Hudayriat Island and its bridge to the west. The beach spans 800 meters of picturesque coastline and has also been honored with the prestigious Blue Flag sustainability award. It offers a range of activities, from beach volleyball to water sports like kayaking and paddling, with the option to rent jet skis for an exhilarating experience. Popular among both expats and locals for its family-friendly atmosphere, safety, and various cafés, Al Bateen Beach is open from 8:00 am to sunset, with a dedicated section for women operating from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.

Pro Tip: Don't miss the Reflexology Footpath covered in various rocks. Take your shoes off and treat yourself to a delightful massage both before and after stepping off the sand.

Yas Island Beach

Nestled on the stunning Yas Island, Yas Beach (also known as Yas Island Beach) undeniably reigns as one of Abu Dhabi's premier coastal treasures. Blessed with white sands caressed by the bejeweled waters of the Arabian Gulf, this idyllic oasis is the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Yas Beach offers a myriad of activities from basking in the sun on comfortable loungers to exhilarating water sports like kayaking and paddle boarding. The beach's vibrant atmosphere is complemented by a selection of beachside eateries serving delectable cuisine, creating an unforgettable beach experience that leaves visitors in awe of its unparalleled beauty and allure.

Shuweihat Island

Nestled along the pristine shores of Abu Dhabi, Shuweihat Island is a hidden gem that beckons travelers seeking tranquility and natural beauty. This secluded oasis, often overshadowed by its more famous counterparts, boasts some of the most picturesque beaches in the region. With its powdery golden sands and crystal-clear azure waters, Shuweihat Island provides an idyllic escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Whether you're yearning for a peaceful day of sun-soaked relaxation or an adventure-filled beach excursion, this island offers it all.
