Though Couture is often known for its groundbreaking role in fashion, there are a few designers, like Bouchra Jarrar, who prefer to stick with structured basics. The simplicity of her clean, classic looks bely the complicated care that goes into their creation. This season, Jarrar embraced straightforward femininity in a way that she has not done before. Her normally oversized silhouette was streamlined, made to fit to the body in a more flattering way. Her unique spin on workwear means this is a collection that women will be keen to scoop up.

Jarrar starts with a clean, ivory pantsuit – but it’s the epaulettes and soft, curving corners that really draw us in. She repeats the softness in folded and draped tailoring which brought a certain languid slouch to her flouncy, feminine pieces. Her classics are toughened up by polished leather bib tops and belted waists, but stay wisely in the territory of minimalist chic. One thing to note when viewing this collection: a 360-degree view of each look is a must, because the backs of these garments are just as exquisite as the fronts.
