Paris Fashion Week Coverage: Akris Spring 2013

It’s a little out-of-touch to imagine any sane woman wearing the Akris opening look the same way the model is, without anything on underneath. That’s the fantasy aspect of a runway collection; each look is presented in the best of all possible ways, or at least in an attempt to adhere as closely to the designer’s vision as possible. For Spring/Summer 2013, Albert Kriemler is feeling sinful. Or maybe just downright decadent. This sensual collection leaves little to the imagination, with sheer lace-decorated gowns, completely see-through mesh dresses, thigh-high slit frocks, and blouses and tunics sporting plunging necklines. Yet, for all of the flesh on display, there is an eager gracefulness to the presentation. Perhaps it is the soft fabrics, the curving cuts, or the elegant tailoring, but this collection was tempting far beyond the sexual signal flares it was giving off.
