It’s easy to forget that being a designer simultaneously means a life spent traveling. Whether Roksanda Ilincic is in the air between collections, going on holiday with her family, or sourcing materials and visiting stockists, one thing is certain: she’s not often home. Travel can make one weary, or can make its subject adaptable, resourceful, and more worldly. Ilincic falls into the latter category – she enjoys her time traveling and uses her flights to catch up on sleep and reading, and her journeys into new cities as an opportunity to soak up the local culture, sites, and food. Ilincic never leaves home without her iPad and SPF 50 – the modern mark of a true adventurer. When she’s not traipsing the world, she’s at home in London enjoying the Colombia Road Flower Market or breakfast at The Wolseley. She recuperates from her strenuous schedule by booking time in exotic locations like the Maldives, where she can unwind, unplug, and spend time with her family.
