Read of the Month: Chanel's Little Black Jacket

For the fashion lover, there are few pieces more iconic in this world than those created by Chanel. Their timeless appeal holds fascination for the collector; a Chanel quilted handbag, for instance, remains as relevant and fashionable today as it was when it was first created. Chanel’s little black jacket is another such piece, able to attract and recruit both men and women to its legion of followers. Originally modeled after a staff jacket that caught Coco’s eye at the Baron Pantz Hotel in Austria, very few changes have been made to this tailored masterpiece since. This month, the brand celebrates the status of the jacket with an exhibit and a book, eponymously entitled Chanel’s Little Black Jacket. In its pages, you’ll learn more about the history of the garment, and find gorgeous black-and-white photographs of its famous fans, shot by none other than Karl Lagerfeld himself. Click through our gallery above for a sampling of some of those photographs, including Dubai’s very own Sama and Haya Abu Khadra.
