Valentino Fall 2010
For fall, new(ish) designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli presented a romantic, airy collection of dresses, updating the signature Valentino code with a modernized touch.
With sculpted ruffles and floral appliqués by the yard, the duo layered on feminine motifs – a touch of delicate lace here; shimmering lilac beads there – onto show-stopping cocktail numbers. Infused with a younger attitude, the gorgeous silk and chiffon dresses were true to the Valentino signature – albeit adapted for the 21st century – making the collection truly covetable for (and surely soon-to-be-worn-by) today’s major A-listers and red-carpet attendees.
