Bobbi Brown’s tips for a flawless bridal face

Following up on our highly popular A-Z Bride Guide from last week, we get Bobbi Brown’s top tips for creating a flawless bridal look!

Above all, Bobbi suggests that this is not the time for experimentation – creating a natural look (that looks like you at your best) is key. The trick to achieving this is through using classic shades (think smoky eyes and a nude lip) that enhance your features and keep your look timeless. Next, Bobbi proposes a few more tips:

GET FLAWLESS

Getting your concealer and foundation perfect is the key to smooth, even skin. For a natural warmth that will add a touch of romanticism to your photos, she recommends using a yellow-toned foundation and face powder that complement your skin tone (anything else and you’ll look washed out against the white of your wedding dress).

ADD COLOR

A pretty, healthy-looking shade of blush on the apples of your cheeks is a must for a healthy glow – choose pink if you are fair and rose if you are dark. For eyes to pop out (and for makeup to stay put), she suggests using an eye pencil to line the eyes – gel liner is her favorite to get a dramatic look – and then applying a shadow in the same color on top with an eyeliner brush. Finally, lining and filling in your lips with a lip pencil, and then layering lipstick over it will ensure your color will stay on for the duration of the evening. Quick tip: dab a touch of gloss in the center of your lips for a pouty look your groom won’t resist!

PACK THE ESSENTIALS

The day before your wedding, make sure you’ve packed these essentials in your purse for handy touch-ups during pictures and the reception.

• Concealer
• Pressed powder
• Lipstick and gloss
• Lip liner
• Mints
• Tissues

SF tip: also pack some solid perfume!

ON THE DAY

For wedding day bliss, Bobbi (happily married with three gorgeous sons!) has a few last words of advice:

• Be in the moment.
• Breathe.
• Don’t go on empty - eat before the party.
• Smile.
• Have fun!
