Designer Spotlight
Adriana Castro
Just in case her formidable bags and clutches weren’t enough to lure us in, Adriana Castro’s business savvy and incredibly young age are a force to be reckoned with.
The gorgeous Colombian designer of amazingly luxe exotic bags – who, incidentally, grew up on her father’s crocodile farm – has risen to superstardom in a matter of only two years, with celebs like Jennifer Lopez and Eva Longoria Parker snatching up some of the stunningly colored pieces. Inspired by the designs she would come up with as a child, her niche line is the perfect mix of trendy and classic qualities at a very appropriate price range, incorporating sensual textures that pack an extraordinary amount of character. The Meissa, for instance, is a practical yet utterly extravagant hobo that comes in a variety of juicy-colored ostrich skins, and is the ideal summer companion for days on the run.
Editor’s note: Since Adriana employs the sustainable use of exotic skins, when purchasing one of her crocodile pieces, you are helping contribute to the repopulation program of the caiman species.
Adriana Castro Meissa hobo, $2,680, available at Adriana Castro online.
