First Look

L.A.dy Dior starring Marion Cotillard

The venerable John Cameron Mitchell directs the video campaign for Lady Dior, cheekily called “L.A.dy Dior” in reference to its Los Angeles shoot location. Mitchell, known for his sense of comedic timing, pulls out a brilliant 5-minute performance from the star, Marion Cotillard.

The video begins with Cotillard riding in a “limo hybrid” with her abrasive agent who dismisses her confession, “I’m thinking about quitting the business.” She arrives at the shoot and is pulled and plucked and primped, all the while maintaining a look of frustrated reluctance. As the shoot starts, it’s clear that she’s not into it. What she does next… well, how about you watch this clever little video and find out? You’ll enjoy it, and will still appreciate the underlying message that the Lady Dior handbag is meant for the irreverent, smart girls out there.
